Plein Air Pastel painting of a pool in Kalakua Park,Hilo Hawaii

During the Art Show called Sticks, Dust and Color at the East Hawaii Cultural Center we had a demonstration time of painting with pastels. This pool with its waterlily pads and a few scattered Lotus flowers caught my eye. I used my digital camera to be a frame finder and came up with this composition that uses the interesting jog in the pool. The morning was spent in the endeavor of painting  the scene  and later another hour or two  to put the finishing touches on it. What do you think?
